Jean Daniel Bouhénic has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2004. He joined DDG in 2009, was promoted to Counsel in 2017 and became a partner in 2020.
He advises major French and foreign players, mainly in the entertainment (audiovisual, video games, live shows), new technologies, retail, luxury goods and agri-food sectors.
Jean-Daniel acts for clients before civil, commercial and arbitration courts, in complex intellectual property disputes (copyright infringement, trademarks, designs, appellations of origin, breach of distribution agreements, wrongful termination), unfair competition and parasitism.
He advises clients on their strategies for protecting, managing and defending their intangible assets, and is involved in drafting and negotiating various contracts and transactions (rights assignment or licensing agreements, partnership contracts, Saas contracts, distribution agreements). He occasionally assists partner firms in various transactions with an IP component or requiring an analysis of the rights held by the company (mergers, acquisitions, JVs, restructuring and partnership agreements).
He speaks at conferences and symposia on intellectual property issues and runs training courses, notably for the Chambre Nationale des Commissaires-Priseurs Judiciaires (trademark law and contract law dedicated to intellectual property - IRPI).
He is a member of APRAM, CYBERLEX and the IBA (Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Committee).
